Admissions for the Academic Year 2020-21 are now open

Finding the right school is all about finding the right environment for a child and we at National Public School, Yelahanka strive with the same goal in mind. Admission is open to all children for Montessori-1, KG-1, Grades 5 to 9 and Grade 11, irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion or gender.

As per the policies and directives of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), we have the following guidelines for admission.

  • The first priority is for siblings.
  • The second priority is for children of our teachers and other staff members.
  • Priority for admission is also listed for alumni of our school. As you are aware, NPS has been functioning since 1959 and hence we have a large number of applications from the alumni.
  • The next priority is for the nationally mobile group including central services and other transferable services of India.
  • There is also another category of people who are internationally mobile and are coming from CBSE schools outside India. Bangalore is seeing a large number of this migratory group who are seeking admission to CBSE schools.
  • The next priority is for the general category.
  • Applications for admission to KG II and Grades 1 to 4 are not being accepted as there is no vacancy. In other classes, admission will depend upon the vacancies likely to arise on account of withdrawal due to parents' transfer.

Age Limit:

  • For entry into KG - 1, the child must have attained the age of 4 by 1st June, 2020.
  • For entry into Montessori - 1, the child must have attained the age of 3 by 1st June, 2020.

We would like to inform every parent that we have very limited seats available for the Montessori and Kindergarten classes.

Registration for admission does not guarantee a seat. We reiterate that admission is subject to vacancy. NPS' philosophy of working with small numbers (an average of 30 in a class) ensures a personalised, individualised learning experience in a caring and creative atmosphere.

Considering the limited number of seats available at the Montessori-1 and KG-1 levels, it is expected that those who seek admission will realise and understand the constraints the institution faces. The disappointment of not getting admission should not become a matter of unhappiness among parents.

Admissions to Classes 5 to 9 and 11 are finalised based on the performance in the written admission tests conducted in the month of January and April. Normally, some classes may have very few vacancies or no vacancies at all. The entrance test in April is usually offered to outstation candidates who may not be able to take the test offered in January.

Parents seeking admission to National Public School, Yelahanka, for various classes are requested to download the appropriate registration forms from the Registration page. Parents may submit the duly filled-in forms (along with the Acknowledgement Slip for Grades 5 and above) at the school. Please visit the Registration page for further details.

Parents are requested to email the school on in case of any queries that are not addressed in the FAQ section and we will do our best to get back to you at the earliest.
